​Piercing the darkness with the light of Jesus Christ:
We understand that the world is dark and meaningless without God.   Millions of people go about their day to day lives living as if God does not exist.  They are in spiritual darkness without the hope of heaven.  Furthermore, the enemy, Satan, has "blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel and the glory of Christ" (2 Corinthians 4:4).  It is to this dark world that God has called his followers to shine, by proclaiming the good news of Jesus Christ--that He, the Son of God, came to this world to save sinners from their sins.   This, therefore, is the primary purpose of Lighthouse Church -- to pierce the darkness with the light of Christ.   Now, how do we go about this task?

By Instilling Hope:
By reaching out with love, friendship and humble service to our family members, friends, and acquaintances, we want to demonstrate to them that not only is life with God worth living, but life with God is meaningful, fulfilling and necessary to find hope in a sinful world.  As a church we want to instill hope in the lives of people who are seeking it.  What should such hope lead them to?

Establishing Faith:
Faith is the avenue by which all men and women can receive the free gift of eternal life.   The Bible teaches that "all have sinned and come short of the glory of God" (Romans 3:23).  We all, therefore, need Christ, for He purchased a place in heaven for us through His sacrificial death on the cross.  We receive salvation from our sins by trusting in Christ alone for eternal life.  It is a gift received by faith.   Common to our purpose as a church is the commitment to share this great news of salvation and "establish faith" as the only means for salvation.   It all starts with trusting in Jesus.   But is that the end of our spiritual journey?  No.  For God calls his followers to  "grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Peter 3:18).   And how do we grow?  That's where the church comes in.  The church's ministry is God's design for our spiritual growth.  Therefore we as a church are committed to

Developing Character:
The bible teaches that Christians are to be "imitators of God" (Ephesians 5:1).  Father God wants our character to match that of His Son Jesus.  The avenue by which we strive to meet that goal is realized through biblical teaching and the encouragement to put that teaching into practice.   Discipleship is a process where we work, with God's help, to develop our character, so that we will become an effective and positive force to pierce the darkness with the light of Jesus Christ.
